Up North Minnesota in the summer is where most of us try to go on the weekends and there is nothing better than a northern Minnesota wedding! We go to our cabins, to slow down in nature, sit around a campfire and relax. This wedding had exactly the same feeling of hanging out with your family and friends.

How did you meet and fall in love?

Zeke and I met at a local bar in our hometown at a mutual friend’s birthday. We started dating a few months later.

How did you choose your venue?

We chose Pine Peaks after touring a few rustic venues in the “Up North” area and was perfect for our northern Minnesota wedding! It had a beautiful setting, friendly staff, and venue amenities. We got a lot for the price, and we liked that there were no additional fees.

What were your thoughts leading up to your wedding day?

We were a little nervous but mostly excited! We had everything planned out beforehand. The family arrived a few days early so we had plenty of time to set up and relax.

What was your favorite part of the day?

Other than getting married, celebrating with all of our friends and family was the best part. People still tell us what a great time they had.

What is your favorite image from your wedding and why?

My favorite was one of Zeke and I with him standing behind me and me looking slightly over my shoulder with wild flowers in the background. Absolutely beautiful and intimate shot. Our family photos turned out great, and I also enjoyed the candid shots of us and guests.

Is there anything that you would change?

Honestly, everything went really well. There’s not much we would change. Hair and makeup took longer than expected but we still had plenty of time before the ceremony. Also, our hotel shuttle didn’t show up prior to the ceremony.

What is your best advice to anyone planning a wedding?

Give yourself at least 6-12 months to plan everything. Use a wedding website to keep things organized. Delegate tasks to trusted family or friends. Read reviews about wedding vendors and shop around. Finally, enjoy your day!
