Underwater Highlights of 2017: Minneapolis Photographer
It’s so much fun to look back on the underwater highlights of the year! I learn more about the water, materials and how to work with people every year. I become more intrigued with how the fabric moves and color changes in the water. Every time I see a cool dress I wonder how it will look underwater! I am slowly accumulating more things to use and had to buy two dress racks this year. I mean really it’s a girl’s dream to have a huge collection of wedding and prom dresses.
The Underwater highlight sessions of 2017:
One of my favorite sessions this year was with all about yellow! Bright yellow hair with a matching dress! And for the extra cool factor paired with a pink top and hot pink sunglasses. I definitely need more yellow underwater!
This year I did two maternity sessions underwater. The goal of any maternity session is to show off your gorgeous belly! Doing portraits underwater present extra challenges because it’s hard to stay down. It takes a little more patience but totally worth it.
I also worked with two sets of sisters! Noelle and Abby are both models. I photographed Michelle’s wedding last summer! She is also a synchronized swimmer and coaches at a middle school. She brought her sister for along during her underwater session.
Wren is a fashion student and made some pieces to use underwater.
One of Jen’s dresses was my daughter’s purple prom dress! I love how the color and shape of the material changes every time it is in the water! Even a dress that is non-descript on the hanger can be magic in the water!
Allison won a session in a give away that I did with the Wedding Fair.
Patience started her session with makeup by Jay’d. She is a dancer and spent her whole session making different shapes. There were so many gorgeous images from her underwater session that it was hard to pick my favorites!
