This was a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Gold Medal Park/Guthrie and the blending of two families. Vanessa and Rick got married on the top of the hill at the park. This is one of my favorite places in Minneapolis! I love the Guthrie, the Stone Arch bridge, the Minneapolis skyline and the whole St. Anthony Main street!

      As told by Vanessa

How did you meet and fall in love?

Rick and I met at work, but we bonded a short time later when a terrible blizzard struck when everyone was leaving the office for the day. I locked my keys in my car with it running and AAA was 2 hours away. Rick was my knight in shining armor that night, but it gave me a glimpse into the kind of person he is. We became friends as a result and later fell in love.

How did you choose your venue?

We love the riverfront area of St. Anthony and visited places until we got just the right vibe, mixed with the size and features we were looking for. We loved our ceremony at the Gold Medal Park/Guthrie!

What was your favorite part of the day?

My favorite part was walking out to the river and visiting with everyone after dinner.

What is each of your favorite images from your wedding? What makes it your favorite?

Rick’s favorite is a black & white photo where we are just about to kiss shortly after the ceremony. He has it enlarged and filling the lock screen of his phone.

My favorite is the nighttime cityscape image where Rick and I are glowing and the city is incredibly silhouetted in the background. It’s a combination between the beautiful night, you and Tasha in the bushes working your magic and nearing the end of a wonderful day. The lighting of that photo is exquisite.

What is your best advice to anyone planning a wedding?

My best advice to anyone planning a wedding is to really dig into what’s important to both of you before you get into the doing & deciding stage. Set clear priorities on what you want to
