“People worry about kids playing with guns, and teenagers watching violent videos; we are scared that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands – literally thousands – of songs about broken hearts and rejection and pain and misery and loss.” ― Nick Hornby from “High Fidelity”
Momentary Lapse of Floyd is a Pink Floyd tribute band. As part of the show they played the entire “Wish you were Here” album.
Pink Floyd is one of those bands that have gotten me through some painful breakups and my somewhat tortured adolescence. I must have listened to “The Wall” every day for 6 months especially “Comfortably Numb” I loved the idea of being numb and not feeling anything. Though these days I prefer to be wide awake! And “Wish you were here” is one of those songs that always makes me think about someone that I miss. I saw them in 1987 0r 88 for their when pigs fly tour. It was one of my favorite concerts ever. It’s always great to revisit music with tribute bands. As a bonus they usually have really good light shows.
