“Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday. Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam… And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva… So tweasure your wuv”. -The Impressive Clergyman: The Princess Bride

Brenna and Tim wanted to use this quote during their ceremony. Who doesn’t love a great Princess Bride quote! I’ve probably seen that movie about 50 times. It was a beautiful wedding and Aria has become my new favorite venue. Brenna’s daughter Karlee was the princess for the day. She was so incredibly sweet with Tim and didn’t want to share the limelight with her mom.  Luckily Brenna has plenty of time to sparkle.

PINME“The little prince went away, to look again at the roses.
“You’re not at all like my rose,” he said.
“As yet you are nothing. No one has tamed you, and you have tamed no one.
You’re like my fox when I first knew him.
He was only a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes.
But I have made a friend, and now he’s unique in all the world.”
And the roses were very much embarrassed.
“You’re beautiful, but you’re empty,” he went on. “One could not die for you.
To be sure, an ordinary passerby would think that my rose looked just like you
–the rose that belongs to me. But in herself alone she’s more important
than all the hundreds of you other roses:
because it is she that I have watered;
because it is she that I have put under the glass globe;
because it is for her that I’ve killed the caterpillars
(except the two or three we saved to become butterflies);
because it is she that I have listened to, when she grumbled,
or boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing.
Because she is MY rose.”
―    Antoine de St. Exupery from the “Little Prince”

There were so many firsts at Charlie and Karla’s wedding! There was a hawk in attendance making all of the ducks at the wedding crazy (they got married outside at Como Zoo next to the flamingo pond). I think the minister had to duck a few times as the ducks panicked and flew directly over his head. It’s the first time I’ve ever done a ring shot with a sloth ( or even seen a sloth) And it was also probably one of the most emotional weddings I have been to. If I had to use one word to describe this wedding it would be connection. There was an honesty and openness between everyone, lots of tears, hugs, laughter, joy and most of all LOVE!

“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter”.-e. e. cummings
I got to spend two days with Charlie, Karla and the whole family.  First at their rehearsal dinner and then their lovely wedding the next day (post coming soon). Charlie is the son of Verna Pitts, one of my best friends and photographer that I work with often (no pressure there). Every wedding has it’s own feeling to it but this one felt like family. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a wedding that was as full of joy, laughter and happy tears. The rehearsal dinner was held at a house in Stillwater that they rented for the weekend for the dinner and to house the out of town relatives. Besides celebrating with Charlie and Karla, it was fun to watch my friend surrounded by all of the people that she loves.

“If you never did you should. These things are fun, and fun is good.”-Dr. Suess

Ashleigh and Paul met at W.A. Frost when she started working there and Paul trained her in. We of course had to start their engagement session at the place that they met. Paul and Ashleigh laugh all the time and we had fun wandering around St. Paul taking awkward photos.  They share my love of quirk and silliness! They are getting married next month on a Thursday so that all of their friends from the restaurant can come to the wedding. Cant wait for the wedding!2014-08-13_0002PINME2014-08-13_0003PINME2014-08-13_0005PINME2014-08-13_0006PINME2014-08-13_0008PINME2014-08-13_0009PINME2014-08-13_0010PINME2014-08-13_0011PINME2014-08-13_0016PINME2014-08-13_0017PINME

“The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent”.-Arnold Schwarzenegger
 I met Shelly last year when I started working out with her group “Girls with Guns”. I was getting bored with my workouts and wanted to do something different. Shelly and Lee are both trainers at Lifetime Fitness and they are both competitive body builders. It is an incredibly disciplined way to work out and eat. I have been following the nutrition and workouts for the past month (but I am not going to compete). I committed to 30 days and have a calendar on my refrigerator to mark off the days.  Shelly and Lee are both completely dedicated to this way of life and to each other. They light up when they look at each other!
 These photos were taken the day after  the Northstar show so both of them are in their very best shape.  Lee came in 2nd in the light heavyweights and Shelly came in 6th in masters, 7th in figure. They are both very driven trainers. They love to work out together and to help other people reach their goals. Lee is getting ready to compete again next month at the Gopher State and is being sponsored by Complete Nutrition (which is great because I get the Lee Richards discount). It’s been really fun to get to know both of them and to learn all sorts of new torturous exercises from Shelly!
